The evening file is ready from 18.10 (Italian time), the one with international markets data is available at 8:10 (Italian time).

Which is the format of the end-of-day data?

It is in Metastock format, compatible with the major software for technical analysis, such as Metastock, Tradestation, Advanced Get, Supercharts, Gann Trader and with shareware programs such as Parity and Stable. Furthermore, our “Intraday data service” includes a file in ASCII (text) format which can be viewed in Excel.

How will I receive the updates? If I am away from my computer for some days, will I lose the data?

Our service is totally automated and every user can update his database of historical data in 2 different ways:

1)Automatic download from Stockloader.com (STRONGLY SUGGESTED). With nothing more than a mouse click on the STL program, the database on your computer will be updated with the latest data. When you haven’t launched it for some weeks, the software will automatically download all the data you need to have your machine up to date.

2)Files via email. In this case, the user will have to open all the emails and copy their attachments in the STL folder. He will then launch the program as to update the database of historical data. The user will have to make sure not to have missed any file.

What about the new stocks or bonds? What do I have to do to have them in my database of historical data?

Nothing! They will be automatically added by the STL program.

How are the graphs modified?

Modifications are applied automatically by the software. In the same way, the composition of the main Indexes is modified every three months.

What’s the difference between End-of-day and Intraday data?

EOD data contains 5 fields (open, close, high, low and traded volume) and are compatible with end-of-day technical analysis software (thus a bar for each day).

Intraday data contains more than a bar for each day, with open and close, low and high, traded volume AND time of reference. This way, your software can produce 1, 5, 15 and 60 minutes graphs. Of course, other timeframes can be chosen (e.g. 45 min.).

As to create intraday graphs, you need a software compatible with the intraday format. Our Intraday service uses timeframes of 1, 5, 15 and 60 minutes with updates sent when the market is closed. These can be used by those who back-test Trading Systems and work in Metastock and ASCII (text) format.

I have already got a database of historical data. Can I append your data in it?

Your database could have a different structure and symbols than ours. If you subscribed another service and you want to stop it to use ours, we will give you the previous historical data for free.

Which price is shown in the close field?

The STL software inserts the price of the last contract signed.

If the composition of an Index is changed, what do I have to do?

Nothing, the STL software will automatically replace the old stocks with the new ones.
